Aragonite is a crystal form of calcium carbonate with orthorhombic crystal system. Repeated twinning results in pseudo-hexagonal forms. Aragonite may be columnar or fibrous, occasionally in branching helictitic forms called flos-ferri “flowers of iron”. It is believed to promote emotional stability, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance focus and patience, and healing of bones and joints.
