Eudialyte

From the veins of a leaf to the stones of a riverbed, if you like nature’s magic of mosaic, this stone is for you! Eudialyte or eudalite or Dragon’s Blood is a rare, nine-member-ring cyclosilicate mineral with a striking mix of colors, most commonly pink to deep red with black, brown, or white inclusions. Interestingly it is the only mineral among the trigonal cyclosilicates to be actually considered as a gemstone! It forms in alkaline igneous rocks, and readily dissolves in acid. It has a significant content of U, Pb, Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, and rare earth elements and is therefore used to date host rocks. The crystals are irregular. It is brittle with an opaque granular structure and vibrant colors, such as red, pink, and brown. The black inclusions of aegirine or biotite give a unique and distinct mosaic-like pattern to the stone. Larger specimens may be radioactive. Due to it’s rarity and softness, it is used for display purposes in collections. It is cut into cabochons for use in jewelry, such as pendants, rings, and bracelets. Associated with the heart and root chakra, eudialyte promotes self-love, compassion, and emotional healing. It is also believed to offer emotional balance, confidence, and peace while removing anger, guilt, resentment, and fear.

This stone features a dormant landscape waking into a neon galaxy beneath the kiss of a violet sun! Eudialyte is a rare, highly complex silicate mineral famous for its vibrant mix of red, pink, and black colors. When examined under ultraviolet (UV) light, select specimens (particularly from the Ilímaussaq complex in Greenland) exhibit a distinct fluorescence, typically glowing with a saturated, bright orange, red, or pink brilliance. The fluorescence is driven by trace elements within the stone. Raw eudialyte is frequently found in matrices alongside other fluorescent minerals. For example, specimens from Quebec (Canada) often feature Agrellite, which fluoresces a bright pink/orange under longwave UV, and Aegirine, which generally remains dark.
