Iolite raw stone against light

Raw iolite, although opaque shows translucent to transparent regions when viewed against light. It is a hard stone, but still prone to breakage due to cleavage in one direction. Various types of inclusions are observed in Iolite, for example red and shimmering metallic spots of hematite, black mica or biotite and needle-like inclusions of iron oxide or rutile. Unique fluid inclusions may appear as bubbles. Raw stone can be placed anywhere in the house and office. As a "Stone of Vision," it is believed to offer physical and mental strength.
