Moissanite is naturally occurring silicon carbide and its various crystalline polymorphs. It’s crystalline structure is held together with strong covalent bonding similar to those in diamonds. It therefore shows properties similar to natural diamonds, such as hardness, brilliant luster, durability and thermal conductivity and is often considered as a low-cost alternative to diamond. In nature, the occurrence of moissanite is extremely rare, but has been mass-produced by humans as a powder and single crystals. It is believed to enhance mental clarity, promote emotional balance, and improves fertility.
