Australian Zebra Jasper raw stone

This beautiful stone is a shadowed mirror reflecting unity of opposites! Yellow Australian zebra jasper is a striped or banded sedimentary rock found in Western Australia. It is a siltstone, rather than calcedony and contains and iron oxide inclusions that impart color to the stone. The yellow or gold hues, sometimes with brown, mustard, or white banding are caused by different levels of heat exposure to iron inclusions during the formation. Due to it's good hardness of 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale it is used in jewelry and decorative items. It is believed to provide strong grounding energy, protection during travel, mental clarity, and balancing.
