Larvikite raw stone (Microscopic view)

This is a close-up view of larvikite stone that is forged in the deep heat of the earth and polished by the icy spirit of the Norwegian fjords! Zooming in into a raw coarse-grained larvikite stone shows tiny specks of feldspar crystals that stand out as silvery shimmering particles against a dark background. This phenomenon of labradorescence and polished surface finishing makes it a highly prized stone for construction of historic edifices.
