Mojave/Shajiri Turquoise cabochons

Like sunlit islands floating on a turquoise sea, these stones capture a vibrant, golden dreamscape! The cabochons feature brilliant "Apple Green" and "Blue" hues interspersed with matrix, often enhanced with bronze. With veins of glittering bronze webbing through a sky-blue and apple-green canvas, each stone is a tiny galaxy of color. Mojave turquoise is a composite or reconstituted gemstone made by compressing real natural turquoise nuggets or chunks- typically from the Kingman mine in Arizona- with bronze, copper, or brass metal matrices and stabilizing polymers under a high-pressure hydraulic press. Dyes added to the polymer resin produce vibrant variations like purple, green, red, or orange turquoise. It has a Mohs hardness rating of 5 to 6. The stabilization and resin process hardens soft chalky turquoise, making it more durable for daily wear. The cabochons are traditionally worn as an amulet for good luck and safe travels. Associated with the throat chakra, it is believed to aid in honest and clear expression. The added bronze/copper content is thought to provide physical stamina and vitality.
