Iolite raw stone

Raw iolite is a bluish violet stone that appears opaque at first sight. A closer look especially against a source of light reveals translucent to transparent patches. The common Hindi name Neeli refers to its distinct blue hue. It is a hard stone, but still prone to breakage due to cleavage in one direction. Various types of inclusions are observed in Iolite, for example red and shimmering metallic spots of hematite, black mica or biotite and needle-like inclusions of iron oxide or rutile. Unique fluid inclusions may appear as bubbles. Raw stone can be placed anywhere in the house and office. As a "Stone of Vision," it is believed to offer physical and mental strength. It enhances intuition, promotes creativity, brings professional success, and aids in detoxification and sleep.
