Grape Agate

This stone features nature’s crystalline vineyard, where soft botryoidal pearls glow with quiet intuition and serene mystery! Grape agate (also known as grape chalcedony or grape amethyst) is a botryoidal quartz crystal formation that looks like a cluster of small grapes. It is sourced exclusively from the Mamuju Regency in West Sulawesi, Indonesia. Intertestingly, it is not an agate because it lacks banding. Rather, it is a macrocrystalline quartz/amethyst formation rather than microcrystalline chalcedony. The color is typically purple or lavender (due to iron traces like amethyst), though it can also appear gray, brown, colorless, or occasionally green/blue-green from celadonite or other mineral inclusions. The stone is reasonably hard measuring 7 on the Mohs scale. The individual spheres measure about 3–6 mm, rarely reaching up to 18 mm. They may be coated in druzy quartz, giving them a sparkling appearance, while others are smooth. Grape Agate is linked traditionally with the Third Eye and Crown chakras, and is believed to sharpen spiritual awareness, psychic perception, and inner clarity. It is believed to ease stress, anxiety, and mental tension.
