Green fluorite, a calcium fluoride mineral has isometric cubic crystals with relatively low hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale. Pure fluorite is allochromatic, i.e. colorless and transparent, but elemental impurities make it variously colored. Some specimens display “cotton wool-like” cloudiness of lighter-colored (pale green or white) fluorite that grew in a swirled pattern in the crystal due to environmental changes or chemical alterations during formation of the stone. Raw stones can be carried in a wallet, purse or pocket. They can be kept in the working space of the office or home to assist in decision making. Raw crystals can also be used in a key-chain or pendant. Green fluorite stimulates the heart chakra, promoting emotional healing and compassion. It is also believed to provide relief in a chaotic situation and strengthen relationships.
